Dear Wardens, Vestry, and Members of St. Andrew,
It has been a pleasure working with Mike Rollins, Jim George, and all our current and former Vestry and ministry leaders that I have had the privilege to serve with over the last 11½ years. Many positive changes have been accomplished, such as, recently new windows, earlier the handicap ramp, and the offering of major spiritual growth opportunities.
I was called to serve at St. Andrew in May 2006 and now I’m being called to retire at the end of 2017. What my ministry will look like in retirement I’m sure the Holy Spirit will reveal in time.
I have had discussions with the Bishop and the Diocesan Transition Office about my plans for retirement, and they have assured me of their support for St. Andrew throughout this transition. My last day will be Sunday December 31, 2017.
There is much more to do for Fall programming, services, the Bishop’s visit, and 110th Anniversary celebration. I will continue my regular schedule throughout the Fall and Advent. By announcing my retirement in advance, this will give time to plan and for you to work with the Diocese to arrange an interim Priest to lead you through the work to hire your next Rector.
I am so grateful for the time I have spent shepherding this wonderful congregation over the years. I pray for a smooth transition and continual spiritual growth for St. Andrew’s people. You will always be in my prayers.
